Alternative pop princess, Billie Eilish, stayed true to her promise from last month and made her highly anticipated return to Saturday Night Live. The singer served two fresh and magnetic performances, making the audience emotional and later bringing a bit of that holiday spirit we love.
But, what were the songs she graced the SNL stage with? Well, first she performed her iconic soundtrack song “What Was I Made For?,” which has her nominated for a Grammy Award. Billie made the audience tear up with this ballad, accompanied by her brother Phineas on the piano.
Then, she got us in our Christmas feels with a rendition of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” originally performed by Judy Garland. Billie did make us go on a ride with her performances! From nostalgic and sentimental to cozy in a Christmas tree. Talk about versatility.
In addition, she also showcased her funny side by participating in not one but two sketches with actress Kate McKinnon. In the first one, this iconic pair acted like grandmothers, promoting cat adoption. Then, for the second one, they make the audience laugh as trip advisors.
This is not the first time Billie Eilish has joined the SNL party, though. The “Lost Cause” singer made her debut in 2019 as a musical guest and performed “Bad Guy” and “I Love You.”
Then, in 2021 she came back to grace the stage with “Happier than Ever” and “Male Fantasy.” Now, in 2023 she rocked the show with her Grammy-nominated track and a rendition of an iconic Christmas song. Talk about having a history on SNL!
