Jason Momoa, the face behind DC’s Aquaman, is probably one of the biggest Hollywood names lately, but his iconic superhero role is not having the same luck. The superstar recently sat down with ET’s Ash Crossan in London, and he got real about the future of Aquaman in the evolving DC universe.
“I don’t necessarily want it to be the end… [but] I don’t think it’s really, like, a choice,” he expressed.
His fate as Aquaman currently seems uncertain, and Jason is literally not joking about it. He admitted the audience “loved” his character, but confessed that things weren’t looking too good for his continuation.
Despite the bad news, the actor is still hopeful about his future with Warner and DC, having his eye on the role of comic character Lobo. He even confessed he was a big fan of him and read Lobo comics as a kid.
Now, mark your calendars for the possible beginning of the end: “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is set to make a splash in theaters on Dec. 22. As Jason Momoa finally gets confirmation on Aquaman’s future, one thing’s for sure, his journey as the sea character has become iconic at this point.
