The scandals of the royal crown are what keep me alive, even though they are not who I am, even though they may never have set foot in the place where I live, I even know how much little William weighed when he was a baby. No, not really, but I do like gossip a lot, like all of you who read the media, but the media doesn’t always act as they should and now they might pay the consequences of their actions.
Within everything that happened in the royal family, one of the dramas that was also highly publicized, was about the relationship Harry has had with the media and the lawsuit he filed, claiming he was the victim of a hacking and apparently, he was right.
UK court rules Prince Harry was victim of phone hacking
Prince Harry won his hacking case against Mirror Group Newspapers, after years of legal struggles with some parts of the British media. He said in a statement:
“I’ve been told that slaying dragons will get you burned,” and added firmly, “The mission continues.”
After appearing in court for a trial in June, Prince Charles, who became the most senior British monarch to testify in court in 130 years-was awarded 140,600 pounds, or roughly $180,700, after the judge determined that he had been singled out by Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) journalists.
“Today is a great day for truth as well as accountability,” Harry, who was not at court, said in a statement read by his lawyer David Sherborne.
“My commitment to seeing this case through is based on my belief in our need and collective right to a free and honest press, and one which is properly accountable when necessary.”
What do you think about this? Do you think the media invaded the prince’s privacy in order to get a new story?
