Barbie breaks records with Critics Choice Awards nominations
Undoubtedly what Barbie has done for the film industry is something impressive, since it is the first time that there is a female film director with as much success as we have seen with Barbie.
Barbie, among other distinctions, will compete for the award for Best Picture, Director and Screenplay. In addition, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will compete for best actress and supporting actor, respectively.
And if you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, here’s the film’s synopsis:
Barbie (Margot Robbie) leads an ideal life in Barbieland, everything is perfect there, with chupi parties full of music and color, and every day is the best day. Of course, Barbie asks herself some questions, rather uncomfortable questions that don’t fit with the idyllic world she and the other Barbies live in. When Barbie realizes that she is able to put her heels on the ground, and have flat feet, she decides to put on some shoes without heels and travel to the real world.
What do you think about it? Do you think the Barbie movie deserves all the nominations it is getting?
