On Thursday, December 7th, a court session was held after Prince Harry took the British government to court after it denied him judicial protection for him or any other member of his family visiting the United Kingdom, and although he was not present in person, he made his opinion known.
Through a letter, Prince Harry reveals that he was forced to go to the United States after abandoning his duties with the monarchy after the Royalty and Public Figures Protection Executive Committee (RAVEC) ensured that he was not provided with any diplomatic security.
“The United Kingdom is my home; it is central to my children’s inheritance, and it is a place where I want them to feel they belong, but that cannot happen if it is not possible to keep them safe“, the prince explained in the letter sent to the High Court in London.
He also let it be known why he does not visit his country often: “I have no protection whatsoever when we are in the United Kingdom. I cannot put my wife in danger in that way, and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to put myself in unnecessary danger as well“, saying it is an injustice since other politicians have left their positions and still receive judicial care at no cost.
