Selena Gomez defends her relationship with Justin Bieber’s music producer Benny Blanco

Pop sensation and actor Selena Gomez is not holding back her keyboard when it comes to defending her new boo, music producer and writer Benny Blanco. The “Single Soon” singer confirmed on Thursday that she had been dating Benny for six months via Instagram. The result? A back and forth between her and her fans.

You read that right! The comment section quickly became a battleground, as Selenators (that’s the name Selena Gomez fans wear proudly) accused Benny of mistreating and talking badly about her in the past. Surprisingly, Selena Gomez herself showed up and started replying to several comments, saying things like:

“Lol yeah, and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts.”

Now, in case you need some context: it all started in 2020, when Benny Blanco was interviewed on Zach Sang’s show. During his chat, the music producer talked about his admiration for Justin Bieber and how he wasn’t a “cookie-cutter pop artist,” seemingly referencing Selena Gomez.

But then, he decided to go savage mode and said something that completely confirmed he was talking about Selena. As he was praising Justin Bieber for being open about his struggles, he said about other popstars “Like you know, they’re like, ‘this is my new single and here’s my makeup line.’”

So there you have it, Sel didn’t seem too bothered about past shade Benny threw in the past. She fired back at fans for criticizing him and their relationship, by liking and commenting “Facts” on a post that suggested she had “seemingly confirmed” the pair was dating. Selena Gomez is clearly backing up her man, despite past controversies!
