Through an official announcement released by BIGHIT MUSIC on December 5th, it was confirmed that BTS‘ Jungkook and Jimin will enlist together as ‘companion soldiers’, which means that both members will do their whole military service simultaneously.
After completing their basic training, they will be able to share the same housing units at the base, so that by being companions during their service, they will be fortunate enough to be each other’s support, plus they are guaranteed that as a team they will be completing their military service at the same time.
This companion soldier program, unlike others, does not require a personal interview; however, it does have its own unique feature in that applicants will not be able to apply for other branches of the armed forces, including branches such as the Navy, Air Force, or alternative service.
After this information was released that Jungkook and Jimin of BTS would share a base and perform their military service together, many netizens expressed their joy through social media, claiming that as long as they had each other, everything could be a little easier for both of them.
