AMC Theaters were pleased to announce that Beyoncé’s production opened in first place with $21 million in North American ticket sales. This became the first film to open with over 20 million sales on the post-Thanksgiving weekend in 20 years since “The Last Samurai.”
AMC’s executive vice president of worldwide programming, Elizabeth Frank, started her statement by thanking Beyoncé for bringing this incredible film directly to her fans, better known as Beyhive. Then, she praised Beyoncé for not only being a performer but also a producer and director.
