Dua Lipa is definitely a dedicated songwriter and music creator. Why, you might ask? Well, the pop queen recently spilled in an interview with Rolling Stone that she had worked several times on “Houdini,” a song we all bop to today. It turns out even created 4 versions of the track before choosing an official one! This is what she revealed:
“I actually went through 4 different versions of verse one and verse two until we landed onto the final one and what it was. There is kind of like, almost like a third verse, which is completely different to what’s on the record now. But, we have this dream of making an extended club mix that we wanna have.”
Now, the dream finally came true and Dua Lipa blessed us with the extended edit of her most recent jam, Houdini. Just like our fave hitmaker promised, this version has an extra verse that says “all the plans go out the window, when we’re out this late at night,” showcasing some real 80s vibes.
When comparing this newly edited version to the official one, we can see the extended track goes all the way to be a 6-minute song! The result? Something completely out of the norm for today’s music standards. Most tracks go from 2 minutes and a half to three minutes. But we aren’t surprised! Dua Lipa really gave the song that extra time to let the beats shine!
