Taylor Swift to be a subject of study at Harvard

One of the most famous and important universities in the world is undoubtedly Harvard, as it is the mother of the institutions where many important people have come from and developed in different fields, where people are basically those who are in the most important executive positions worldwide.

It is not at all easy to be part of such an institution, so the curricula must be of the most advanced and fascinating, so knowing that there will be a Taylor Swift study subject makes everything much more interesting.

Taylor Swift to be a subject of study at Harvard

Undoubtedly, the global phenomenon that Taylor Swift represents is one of the most interesting we have seen in recent years, and to date, the female artist has not stopped filling stadiums and making highly successful material that has led her to be named as the titan of pop.

According to Stephanie L. Burt, professor of English in Harvard’s English department, the topic on Taylor Swift will consist of students engaging with the singer-songwriter’s lyrics, music and influence through an analysis with experts in art and literature.

This analysis will look at how Taylor Swift’s lyrics relate to her literary references. For example, a line in her song The Lakes reads, “Tell me which ones are my Wordsworth,” in reference to the English poet William Wordsworth. The research on Taylor Swift at Harvard will not be limited to classifying songs into Pop or Country genres. Instead, it will examine the songs from a class, religious and identity perspective, as well as their impact on issues such as political activism, women’s rights and the LGBTQ+ community.
