The British royalty, no matter what time of the year we are in, has an enormous power that spans the world, to the extent that it is the most known and respected royal family, as well as the one that is most full of scandals.
When it was the coronation of King Charles III, one of the most controversial issues in the international press was that there were not many artists who had agreed to perform, in the end, it was Katy Perry who took the reins and performed in front of the royal family.
Taylor Swift refused to perform in front of King Charles III
Every time information comes out about the talented singer Taylor Swift, everyone pays attention, so you can’t blame them for being shocked by the news that Taylor could have performed for the coronation, as she would have been part of the huge list, but she would have been powerful enough to say NO to the royals.
According to Omid Scobie, a royal reporter, Swift declined an invitation to sing during King Charles III’s historic coronation in May, as reported in his new book Endgame. Numerous sources state that Scobie’s book doesn’t specify the singer’s precise reason for declining.
The crowning of King Charles III took place in the United Kingdom on May 6, the same day that Swift was playing in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of her Eras Tour. May 7 was the day of his coronation concert.
It is not yet known if Taylor’s decision was made for personal or political reasons or simply for scheduling reasons, since her tour had already started and of course, the tickets were already sold out.
What do you think about it? Do you think Taylor Swift should have performed in front of the royal family or did she make the right decision?
