In a recent interview to promote the release of his album ‘Whitree‘, INFINITE‘s Nam Woohyun revealed his diagnosis of a ‘rare’ cancer, a gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) that was so advanced that he had to undergo surgery quickly due to the magnitude of the problem.

In my case, the urgency of the surgery was non-negotiable, so I quickly organized my events and performances“, said the idol, who also talked about the post-operative process: “After the surgery, it was necessary for me to abstain from drinking water for more than two weeks, and I had a 20-centimeter scar on my stomach“.

But despite being a very difficult condition both physically and mentally, Nam Woohyun revealed that during his hospital days, the nurses were very empathetic to him, even motivating him day after day to keep writing songs while helping his recovery to be more effective”.

Still, the singer commented, “There is a possibility that I may not be able to recover my past singing skills“. However, many fans have expressed their support for the idol by leaving very positive messages on his social networks, assuring him that no matter what happens, they will be there for him.
