There are few horror movies that can make you shiver like that and with more and more stories and more technology there comes a time when it becomes impossible to find good material that will steal our sleep as always promised.
Unfortunately, we are also exposed mostly by movies that are not good for everyone, as there is no challenge to make you think and explore new horizons of terror, until an Argentinean comes along and for the second time, gives us all a punch in the mouth proving that it is never too late to find a new fear.
With a film like you’ve never seen before. Demian Rugna stands up again not only in defense of Argentinean cinema, or Latin, or American, or even a direct space, Demian stands in front of all genre cinema to show that there is still a lot to do, you just need, you know, talent.
When Evil Lurks is the most disturbing film of the decade and you’ll never be the same after watching it.
When Evil Lurks is a nightmare that we see on screen, where everything quickly goes to hell and you witness such gruesome destruction that will make you uncomfortable, make you uncomfortable and give you a terrible time.
With graphic scenes that have never disturbed me like this before, When Evil Lurks goes to another side of thinking, where terror unfolds in such a real and graphic way that it makes you doubt what is right, as well as whisper what many of us think and dare not say. I mean, I’m scared to death of children too.
If you have no idea what the winning film of Sitges (the horror film festival par excellence) is about, take a look at it and if you dare, watch the film through Shudder, I assure you that you will regret having seen it:
In a remote village, two brothers discover a man infected by evil forces who is about to give birth to a demon. Desperate to prevent the entry of Evil into their peaceful world, the brothers discover the terrible truth: it is too late.
