Disneyland, Universal and all the theme parks that exist are extremely successful and fill visitors with happiness every year, but now they could have a big competition just around the corner, and that is that a big studio could be opening a theme park.
Can you imagine being surrounded by ghosts or zombies? Sony has many titles to its name that could make extremely interesting attractions and it could be a reality that would leave even Six Flags trembling because of how original it will be.
Sony will make a theme park of Zombieland, Ghostbusters, and more!
Wonderverse will take place at Chicago’s Oakbrook Center mall and will offer an immersive subway experience with rides and experiences based on the company’s most popular franchises such as Ghostbusters, Jumanji, Bad Boys, Zombieland, and Uncharted.
Although not comparable to Disney and Universal theme parks, this is a significant step forward for Sony, as until now it had no immersive entertainment properties of its own and its strategy was based on licensing with other companies, such as PortAventura and its Uncharted franchise.
Wonderverse will open in January 2024 at the Oakbrook Center mall in Chicago, where we might even see a Jumanji attraction. Spanning more than 4,000 square feet, Wonderverse will feature:
“multimedia experiences, interactive installations, dynamic attractions, and themed restaurant offerings.”
Without a doubt this is a very ambitious project that will undoubtedly give a lot to talk about, as there are many classic Sony movies that will undoubtedly have very epic Halloween parties.
What do you think about it? Do you think this incredible vision will actually come to fruition and in a few years we will have another entertainment option?
