There are different theme parks around the world that attract a lot of attention, with Universal and of course Disney being the biggest ones to remember, but what happens when Disney takes just one of their products and makes it into a huge piece?
A new theme park has opened and it’s not a new Disney, it’s a new Frozen themed park, something that has delighted fans of this animated movie that has made many little girls fall in love.
Frozen opens its first theme park in Hong Kong
The opening follows Disney’s announcement in September of an expansion of its parks and cruises worth about $60 billion over about ten years.
“Over the past decade, the film has become one of the most successful franchises in Disney history,” said Josh D’Amaro, president of Disney Experiences. “World of Frozen represents the largest and boldest expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland since the park opened in 2005.”
To attract more visitors, Hong Kong has been beefing up the park. The multimedia and fireworks show Momentous, which is presented in its castle most nights, was set to debut in June 2022.
Elsewhere, Disney intends to open a Zootopia-themed area at its Shanghai Disneyland in December, a Fantasy Springs port at Tokyo DisneySea next spring and a Frozen-themed Kingdom of Arendelle at Disneyland Paris, scheduled to open in 2024 or 2025.
If Disney starts with this, we’re surely going to see more iconic character parks very soon. Can you imagine a Barbie world? It is certainly a very interesting new approach that could work for more brands.
What do you think about it? Do you think there are more Disney princesses that deserve their own theme park? Would you like to visit this interesting place?
