When it was announced that Taylor Swift would be in Brazil, the country could not hide its excitement, but what seemed to be a dream date, turned into a nightmare due to the heat stroke that Brazil is suffering.
With temperatures exceeding 60 degrees, Ana Benavides, a 23-year-old woman, died of cardiac arrest. The heat strokes were very popular, indicating that there were more than 1000 people who fainted due to the high temperatures. When Taylor learned of the young woman’s nightmare, she decided she would do something in her honor.
It was announced that Taylor would be performing in different places in Brazil, but after the horrible event that the young girl went through losing her life, Taylor dedicated some words and not only that, also a song in honor of the young girl.
Taylor Swift reportedly dedicated song to fan who died at one of her concerts in Brazil
In last Sunday’s show, Taylor included the song “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” as one of the surprise songs she usually includes in her repertoire in each show. She even cries while performing the song in the videos.
Although she did not mention the fan’s name in yesterday’s performance, Brazilian fans believe that Taylor dedicated this song to a deceased fan. Then she sang the song.
This is not the first time that Taylor Swift makes mention of the horrible event that happened last November 17, since hours after the news was made official, Taylor shared a brief message through her social networks where she said what was going through her mind at that moment:
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young.
I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil”.
What do you think about it? Did you like the interpretation made by the American hottie in honor of the young woman?
