Since the expiration of BLACKPINK‘s exclusivity contract, they have been unable to reach an agreement with the company, and it seems that for that reason, Jennie‘s manager left YG Entertainment, and the idol filed a trademark request. These extreme measures have left fans concerned.
It was confirmed that on November 14th, Jennie filed the request for her trademark ‘JENNIE RUBY JANE‘ in various categories at KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service). This trademark covers very important items such as food services, beverages, and temporary accommodation.
It was also confirmed that not only Jennie’s manager left YG Entertainment, but many important managers of BLACKPINK have also left the company. Alison Chang, the group’s overseas planner and manager, revealed through her LinkedIn profile that she had left the agency after four years.
Likewise, Lisa‘s manager, who worked as a senior manager at the agency, made sure to put on her LinkedIn bio that, since the end of October, she is no longer part of YG Entertainment, where she had been working heavily since 2018.
