K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK ended their exclusive contract in August, and since then it has been uncertain what will happen to the group, but on November 14th, YG Entertainment gave an update on the renewal.
Through an official press release to major media outlets in the country, the agency shared a brief statement that revealed their intention to continue with the girls: “As of the date of this announcement, the exclusive contract with the artist is being negotiated for renewal“.
It is worth noting that since their debut in 2016 until now, BLACKPINK has been under an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment, but in view of the fact that their commercial agreement has ended and the lack of updates from the agency, many fans believe that there will be no renewal.
This statement from YG Entertainment would be the first to provide concrete information and assure that they are already in the negotiation phase with the idols. They also announced that “the final result will be shared through the disclosure of important management issues related to investment decisions“, ensuring a prompt outcome of the matter.
