Ever since we saw the Thor movie we met a very particular character who undoubtedly stole the show. The role that Tom Hiddleton played as Loki became so famous that he even had a successful Disney closure.
Thor’s character is important, but his “evil” brother is the one who stole the show, all thanks to the actor who played him, who has already confessed that is all and that he will not play the mythological character again.
Tom Hiddleston won’t play Loki again
Tom Hiddleston Hiddleston said for The Tonight Show:
Say you haven’t seen it, I won’t spoil it for you, but I’ll tell you one thing: it all comes full circle. It’s the conclusion of the second season. It’s also the conclusion of seasons one and two. It’s also the conclusion of 6 movies, 12 episodes and 14 years of my life. I was 29 when I was cast for the role, now I’m 42. It’s been quite a journey,¨
“I think in the finale there are echoes and resonances of all the versions of Loki I’ve played.”¨And I think, without making spoilers, the episode is called ‘Glorious Purpose’. If you remember in the first Avengers movie, Loki comes down to Earth. He looks right at Sam Jackson. There’s Nick Fury and I say ‘I am Loki of Asgard. I am charged with glorious purpose.’ He’s arrogant and he’s entitled and he’s bloated and he’s going to take over the world. At the beginning of the first season, Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, basically shows Loki that glorious purpose was a fallacy and gives him a sort of second chance. And I think the most exciting thing about the series was watching Loki try to rethink and rediscover that sense of purpose, which we can all relate to.¨
Although many times actors do return to their role after a while, it is a fact that Tom will be missed as Loki.
What do you think about it? Would you like to see more of Loki’s adventures?
