During an interview with GOT7’s BamBam for ‘Bam House‘ released on November 10th, 2NE1‘s Dara stated that their fans transferred to BLACKPINK after their group’s breakup in 2016, causing Blackjack’s fandom to quickly decrease and become unpopular.

The Korean singer explained that “a large majority of Blackjack members liked BLACKPINK as it gives off a similar vibe to 2NE1“. It is also important to note that the K-Pop girl group made its debut the same year Dara’s band broke up, and both projects are owned by YG Entertainment.

For a long time, the group 2NE1 was one of the most important in the genre. For that reason, GOT7’s rapper asked her if she was interested in doing a comeback, and her answer was, “I would like to, and there are many suggestions, but it hasn’t been done yet“.

Dara also explained how complicated it would be to reunite all the girls since the former band members are part of different agencies, but in case of a glorious comeback, they would love to have their Blackjack fan group, assuring that “Even after a breakup, the essence of 2NE1 doesn’t change“.
