The Hollywood strike was one of the most worrying moments for the film industry, which lasted more than 4 months and with that the doubts about what would happen with the favorite productions were not long in coming, since even the award seasons could be affected if an agreement was not reached.
The problems of the strike were so serious that even big celebrities such as George Clooney or Emma Stone offered to give money to end the strikes, but the union decided to continue fighting so that after 118 days, they reached an agreement of approximately 3 years.
Celebrities react to the union agreement after the actors’ strike
Fran Drescher, leader of the union, was one of the first celebrities to speak out, sharing her excitement on her Instagram account:
“We did it!!!! A billion dollar offer!!! 3 times the last contract!!! New ground was broken everywhere!!! Thank you SAG-AFTRA members for sticking it out and getting this historic deal!”
