The Golden Maknae released his debut album, “GOLDEN” on November 3, his fans better known as the ARMY, couldn’t been more thrilled because of the release which became an imminent success overseas. On November 10, the United Kingdom’s Official chart made a great announcement, stating that Jungkook broke the record for the highest ranking ever achieved by a Korean solo act on its Official Albums Chart.
The idol made history after “GOLDEN” debuted at No. 3 for the week of November 9 to 15, making it the highest-charting album by any Korean solo artist to date. The record was previously held by BTS’ Suga with his mixtape, “D-2” which reached No. 7 in the chart in 2020. In addition, there’s no other album by a Korean solo act that has ever entered the top 10.
This record becomes even more amazing because it demonstrates the wide influence of BTS’ Jungkook overseas.
