Dua Lipa has been giving her fans little doses of her new music era. First, she started off her comeback by teasing the Internet with some cryptic pictures that had captions like “Catch me before I go,” referencing Hungarian-American escapist and illusionist, Harry Houdini. Then she would delete those posts, just to keep adding new ones with the same mysterious vibe.
Most recently, this pop queen finally unveiled what’s behind all these secretive teasers and showed fans the cover art for her new single, titled “Houdini.” In the picture, we can see her licking her own reflection and rocking that new ginger hair with some classy earrings. The result? Dua Lipa totally made it clear she’s going for a completely different vibe, at least in aesthetic terms, for her new era – and we’re loving it.
Now, while we’ve been blessed with these beautiful snaps, and we finally know the song’s name, there’s something we’re still missing. Yes, that’s right! We literally have no idea what “Houdini” is going to sound like. Is Dua bringing a switch-up and changing her musical style? Is she going for that disco/80s vibe from her previous album? Fear no more! The answer is here, as the “New Rules” hitmaker finally gave us a snippet:

“Do you think about it night and day?” That’s how this little song teaser opens up. And we can definitely say we do! This is just a sneak peek, but one thing’s for sure: it’s a total bop. In this track, we can see Dua applying the “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” type of philosophy. Much like her previous work, this song has a heavy 80s vibe, which is perfect for fans who loved “Future Nostalgia.”
“Houdini” will drop on November 9, mark your calendars!
