BLACKPINK’s Lisa has faced backlash from the Chinese community after they terminated her Weibo account because she allegedly violated its terms of obscenity and nudity. Her participation in the Parisian cabaret, “Crazy Horse” brought several consequences for her. The luxury brand CELINE and BVLGARI’s Chinese social media accounts deleted all the content related to Lisa.
Despite the huge controversy in China, CELINE, AND BVLGARI, the CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin decided to show support to Lisa regardless of what’s happening right now. On November 3, Babin began posting several stories about Lisa on his Instagram account to dismiss the controversy, and even he already has a Lisa’s Highlight reel on his profile.
The online community was divided into the ones who believe JC Babin’s actions are a clear sign of support to Lisa and others stated he is only acting in the best benefit for the brand in the Asian market. Although he hasn’t expressed anything about the situation, his actions speak louder than words.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa is one of the most popular idols in the Kpop scene, not only for her undeniable talent but for her influence. This particular reason was the key to becoming an ambassador of several brands, including BVLGARI, so it is not a surprise that JC Babin shows support to his latest muse.
