Marvel wants to bring the original cast of Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson to a new movie

According to the report of the media ‘Variety’, Marvel wants to bring back a new ‘The Avengers‘ movie with an original cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson, a desperate measure that could help them end the bad times they have had with the recent releases of the UCM.

Iron Man and Black Widow were important characters in ‘The Avengers: End Game‘, as they would sacrifice their lives to finally destroy Thanos. These deaths were counterproductive for Marvel, since with the departure of such emblematic heroes, the franchise lost a lot of popularity.

Actually bringing back the characters played by Downey Jr. and Johansson is not an easy task because, with its narrative order, it would not be very crazy to think of some variants from another timeline. Even so, it has not been confirmed that this project is in progress, nor has it been officially announced by Marvel or Disney executives.

However, some fans do not lose hope that these iconic superheroes will make their reappearance in ‘The Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘, which, due to an adjustment in the release schedule, has been postponed to May 1st, 2026.

Likewise, it is confirmed that there is a project that could be the most ambitious of Marvel, where they finally unite the heroes of sagas such as X-MEN or the Fantastic Four with the original Avengers and their universe. It will be called ‘The Avengers: Secret Wars‘ and will be released on May 7th, 2027.
