SHINee‘s Taemin was invited to BTS‘ Suga‘s ‘Suchwita’ show, where, as the interview progressed, they realized that they had more in common than they imagined, including their age, as both idols are 30 years old, as well as an uncomfortable experience during their rookies era in the industry.
In the interview, they revealed that BTS and SHINee went through the same uncomfortable ‘initiation ritual‘ as rookies, since it seems that when idols start their careers, they do not have access to an area to rest before the performances in the music programs.
Suga revealed that they had “partitions in the hallway because we did not have separate green rooms, but I remember that we were very surprised“. Taemin stated that his group also experienced these experiences when they were rookies: “We also went through the partition phase“, and he point out that although it is exhausting, it is part of the way.
Overcoming these stages of musical programming is very important, although it costs work. As the ideal would be to have a private space where you can relax and prepare for the show, both SHINee and BTS persevered and demonstrated their talent, no matter the difficulties, finally achieving success.
Suga confesses that when they were on the Inkigayo show, they often saw the promotional ads for the song ‘Danger’ that Taemin premiered, and he assures that all members of BTS were amazed and nobody could stop seeing it: “All members did not gather around the monitor that was there, and we saw other artists“.
What do you think of this uncomfortable ‘initiation ritual’ that SHINee and BTS went through when they were beginners?
