BTS’ Jungkook is one of the biggest exponents of the K-pop genre overseas because of his catchy songs and undeniable talent. However, before him, PSY ruled the world with several hit songs during the 2010s and now both artists share a record on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Golden Maknae started his solo career while some members of BTS were enlisted in the military, fulfilling their duties with the country. Now, Jungkook’s debut has met critical acclaim and has had success worldwide. Everything he touches becomes an instant hit. As an example of his undeniable talent, he debuted straight at the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Seven” featuring Latto.
BTS’ Jungkook and PSY are tied as the Korean soloists with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100. This happened after “Too Much,” a collaboration between The Kid Laroi with Jungkook and Central Cee, debuted at No. 44 on the Hot 100 for the week ending on November 4.
“Too Much” becomes the Golden Maknae’s fifth entry on the Hot 100 as a solo artist. Previously, he charted, the “7 Fates: CHAKO” OST track, “Stay Alive”, and “Left and Right” as a featured artist in Charlie Puth’s song, “Seven” and “3D” featuring Jack Harlow.
PSY also has five entries on the Hot 100 including, “Gangnam Style,” “Hangover,” “Gentleman,” “Daddy,” featuring CL, and “That That” featuring BTS’ Suga. This definitely consecrates Jungkook’s career as one of the most prominent to date, and he hasn’t even released his debut album, “GOLDEN,” which is set to be released on November 3.
