When it was first announced that a sequel to the Aquaman movie would be released, everyone was excited, then came Amber Heard‘s problems and the title ran into some trouble that was thought to be resolved, but it’s not.
First the premiere was delayed and it was believed it would be lifted, then 2 more delays happened and then came the actors strike. Now a fourth delay of the movie would be confirmed and with that, the few hopes of seeing a good movie on screen.
Aquaman delays its release date for the fourth time.
The final delay occurs two months after the arrival of the showrunner, setting the new date for December 22. The story follows Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry and Patrick Wilson as Orm, who form an unlikely alliance to protect Atlantis from an ancient force that is threatened by the character Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
It is not the first time that this happens, because as the title says yes, this is the fourth time that the film delays its release date, to such a degree that it is seriously doubted that it will have a good performance at the box office, since absolutely nobody is expecting anything from the film and apparently this is also thought by the production company, since rumors have spread that not even Warner would be investing in the marketing of this film, which some users indicate that it will be a failure.
Although the change also occurs in a broader context of challenges for Warner Bros. and DC, since the release of Aquaman in 2018, the labels have faced a series of disappointments in box office, which even motivated a complete renewal of the cinematic universe, which will see its reboot with Superman: Legacy in 2024.
What do you think about it? Do you think the movie will be a failure as everyone says or will you give it a chance on screen?
