This rule prohibits the British Royal Family from celebrating Halloween

For many decades, the royal family of the United Kingdom has had certain traditions that can be eccentric in the eyes of society, as some have been extremist. A clear example is Halloween, where, due to a rule of protocol, the royalty cannot enjoy this festival as much as the rest.

Queen Victoria, who ruled from 1837 to 1901, was responsible for formalizing a royal code that everyone in the royal family must follow to avoid unnecessary behavior during the celebration on October 31st.

This code forbids the entire royal family to wear costumes in public during Halloween, thus demonstrating sophistication in front of the people of England, giving a good image and a better influence on society. This code remains in force to this day, although some members of the family could disagree.

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton have demonstrated their efforts to try to make their children enjoy all the festivities; they even held private Halloween parties with the intention that their successors could live the experience of disguising and enjoying the day with other children.

Unwillingly, Prince Harry, with the intention of leading a quieter life and without so many labels, renounced the title and abandoned his country of origin. He now lives with his wife Meghan Markle in the United States, and thanks to this decision not to be bound by royal rules, he has more freedom in his decisions.

In this case, their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been allowed to enjoy Halloween in public; they can even live the experience of disguising themselves and going to other homes to ask for candies, as the tradition says, enjoying the festival fully like any other child.

What do you think about this rule that prevented the royal members from celebrating Halloween?
