Hollywood is going through a very serious time, as strikes are stopping a lot more things than we all might think. First it was the actors’ promotion of their movie, then the union’s recommendation for not wearing certain Halloween costumes and now, the awards.
Many movies and series, as well as productions that were already established have had to stop. Films that were about to be released have been delayed and the Hollywood industry is accumulating more and more problems as they have not been able to reach an agreement with the actors in their strikes.
The problems of the strikes are very serious, since the big production companies are losing a lot of money, since they have their productions completely stopped. Although at the beginning of the strikes everything started with the scriptwriters, they managed to reach an agreement, so they have already returned to work, but the problems with the actors have not stopped, since none of the two parties have been able to reach an agreement.
Without an agreement, the actors who are part of the union are not returning to work, so it has already become known that there are major films that could be canceled permanently, alerting the audience that was already waiting.
Not only the movies would be affected, since along with the actors’ strike, the marketing campaigns they had planned have been stopped, and with this, even the awards. So, if this is not solved, not only we will not see movies, but we will not know who would be winning the statuettes that are given every year to celebrate the best of cinema.
“With a new agreement, the awards season will continue as normal. Otherwise, our members, including A-list actors, are not going to participate in the awards season at all,” Crabtree-Ireland said Saturday.
Every year hundreds of actors parade on the red carpets, showing us incredible outfits and iconic moments that remain within the internet, but apparently, this would not happen next year, making that even much popularity of the actors, who become trendy during those dates, is threatened.
