John Cena reveals what his favorite anime is and it’s not One Piece

Many of us remember John Cena in our childhood due to the important participation he had in the WWE, becoming one of the most famous wrestlers worldwide, but that was not enough for him, as he moved to the world of acting and everything has been a success.

We know John Cena now for his participation in the world of cinema, but it is thanks to that that people have shown more interest in the now actor, who has made known which is his favorite anime in the world and it is not the one everyone is waiting for.

The star of the Peacemaker series talked about anime on a podcast Whiskey Ginger, hosted by actor and comedian Andrew Santino. He emphasized that, of all the choices available, Hokuto no Ken is still his favorite, making the whole audience look surprised by his quick response:

“I like certain anime. I was really drawn to post-apocalyptic stuff and I discovered it at the right time. I thought it was cool, so when I was a kid, I watched a lot of Hokuto No Ken.”

People were expecting one of the names John Cena would say to be one of his favorite anime like One Piece or Death Note, but it was Hokuto No Ken that won out over all the other anime.

“This is a classic story of how I discovered anime in the mid-1980s, and that was my era, so moving forward to what anime is today makes me say, ‘What?”

When people found out that the WWE star was a fan of anime people couldn’t hide their excitement, indicating that they liked John Cena much better now than they did before, indicating that the actor is not only talented, but also has good taste.

If you don’t know what Hokuto No Ken is about, this is its synopsis:

After World War III, the planet became a desolate place, and water became the most sought-after resource for people around the world. It is no longer intelligence or skill that reigns in this world, but strength, specifically, brute force. That is why it is the strongest that rule the world. This will change when El Puño de la Estrella Del Norte arrives to these lands, this character, descendant of the strongest Martial Art ever known, is in charge of helping the villagers to achieve a more dignified life.

What do you think about it? Do you like the anime that is also former wrestler John Cena’s favorite? If not, what is your favorite anime?
