Disney delays the live-action remake of Snow White a year

Disney has been widely popular for their quality movies and series through the years. However, they have been harshly criticized for their latest live actions, and “The Snow White” film was no exception. Despite all odds, the film had a release date until it was delayed.

Previously, there were some leaked images from the live-action that caused outrage among the netizens who stated this kind of live-action shouldn’t be made, rekindling the discontent towards “The Little Mermaid” at that time. In addition, numerous netizens also condemned Rachel Zegler as the titular princess because they said she didn’t fit the role.

“The Snow White” movie was expected to be premiered on March 22, 2024. However, the 2023 SAG-AFTRA has taken a little longer and delayed numerous productions for Disney and the Hollywood industry overall. Disney was in charge of giving bad news to the fans who were waiting for the movie, by changing the release date of “The Snow White” to March 21, 2025.

Other Disney titles such as Elio, the new sci-fi animated film, were also delayed from March 1, 2024, to June 13, 2025. Despite the bad news, not everything was wrong. After all, Disney shared the first-look image of Zegler surrounded by the seven dwarfs, in addition, the movie will feature new songs from Justin Paul and Benj Pasek.

Disney might be revisiting their new movie in order to make several changes. It looks like they’ll address the criticism made by netizens and hear what they really want from the movie. This marks another low blow for the entertainment industry, which has been in critical condition in the last couple of months.
