Hips don’t lie, and neither do the rumors (or so it seems!). Pop queen Shakira and Puerto Rican king Bad Bunny might be in the kitchen cooking up some of the hottest collabs this year. What’s the buzz all about? Well, you might recall that Bad Bunny recently used one of Shakira’s famous lines in one of his songs – and we’re totally here for it. Talk about a dynamic duo!
Everything started when the trap artist dropped a cheeky reference to that Shakira bop in his own track, “Los Pits.” It came from his latest album, “‘Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana” (No One Knows What Will Happen Tomorrow). In his jam, he sang (in Spanish), “Now men cry, yes, but without stopping the cash flow.” Maybe that sounds familiar? That’s because it’s a playful spin on Shakira’s iconic line in one of her most successful tracks this year. Her song said, “Women don’t cry anymore, women never stop the cash flow.”
After that, Shakira, being the absolute queen that she is, clapped back to that cheeky line the Bunny made with the ultimate slay. Just two days ago, she took her Insta stories and tagged Bad Bunny with an invitation to “make money together.” And we don’t really think she was telling the Puerto Rican sensation to go to the bank, we’re talking about that Shakira x Bad Bunny crossover we didn’t know we needed. Talk about power moves!
Now, what’s the real tea? According to Telemundo, the “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker and the “Moscow Mule” juggernaut have already recorded this upcoming bop we all want. Word on the street (and the Internet) says the song is titled “Mira Para El Cielo” (Look to the Sky). So, Detective Shakira and Bad Bunny stans think it could be dropping in the coming weeks.
This year seems to be the year of Shakira’s epic comeback. Her most recent songs, mostly inspired by her divorce from Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué, have put Shakira at the top of every chart. Because of this, stans are placing their bets that the Shakira x Bad Bunny collab could actually happen – and if it did, the music scene would be set on fire!
