Trap and reggaeton king Bad Bunny had the perfect crossover with pop queen Lady Gaga. But wait, is this a fantasy? Not at all, fam! The Puerto Rican sensation was serving talent, both as the host and the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, yesterday October 21. The result? A star-packed reunion with some Latino flavor – everything we didn’t know we needed.
Now, yesterday SNL was the definition of legendary: we had sketches with Mick Jagger, Pedro Pascal, and Bad Bunny himself. As if that wasn’t enough, he also blessed us with some bops from his latest album, “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana,” and trust we (and the rest of the planet) have had the record on loop since it came up. With this project, Bunny has been breaking streaming records left, right, and center.
But this is where it gets really good: Lady Gaga, the pop queen herself, introduced Bad Bunny in the fiercest way possible! Need proof? The “Born This Way” hitmaker pulled off her best Spanish-speaking accent and gave all Latinos a moment. “Nueva York! Puerto Rico y todo el corillo, Bad Bunny!” Gaga said, slaying that language skill. But we are, honestly, not surprised. Lady Gaga has been captured singing some songs in Spanish during her residency in Las Vegas, so she’s been probably training that Spanish.
After that massive introduction, Bad Bunny rocked the stage with his jam “Un Preview.” The staging? On point, Benito gave us all that magic he can only give with a nostalgic mechanical horse. He’s definitely taking care of the aesthetics during his era, as horses seem to be one of the main points for his newest album – and we’re loving it.
Bunny is definitely becoming a legend among other legends, and it’s not the first time this has happened. Recently, pop queen, Shakira, invited the “Where She Goes” juggernaut to collaborate. The singer took Insta to propose a collab, and we can’t wait for that to happen.
