Meryl Streep has been widely known since her debut in the acting industry in 1977 after her groundbreaking leading role in the miniseries Holocaust, which helped her win her first Primetime Emmy Award. The beloved actress held her marriage with her husband, Don Gummer for 45 years, however, she revealed they have been separated since six years ago.
The shocking news caught everyone off guard after, the “Only Murders in the Building” actress was seen wearing her wedding band on October 20 at the 2023 Princesa de Asturias Awards celebrated in Spain. Page six was in charge of spreading the news, and PEOPLE Magazine confirmed the story.
The three-time Oscar Winner and her husband, Gummer extinguished the flame of their love six years ago. Meryl’s representatives gave a little statement to PEOPLE.
“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”
This particular couple was popular because they kept their relationship out of the public eye almost all the time, the last time they were seen publicly together since the 2018 Oscars.
Meryl Streep and Dann Gummer share four children together in their marriage, their son Henry and their daughters Mamie, Grace, and Louisa. After their 45th wedding anniversary was celebrated on September 30, Meryl left everyone shocked because nobody thought this could be possible because she has always kept Dann Gummer in her speech.
