When we think of superheroes, the first brand that comes to mind is undoubtedly Marvel and with that, it’s not exactly about horror, but apparently, the big production company is already thinking about something different, as they will have a horror special that will apparently be very bloody.
With the arrival of Deadpool 3, superhero movies changed, as we saw much more graphic material, so now Marvel would feel confident to offer a much more intense and bloody material.
Marvel promises Gore for its horror special
Werewolf By Night came out in 2022 as a very interesting horror option with the grace of being a black and white production. Directed by Michael Giacchino, it tells the story of Jack Russell, played by Gael Garcia Bernal, a lycanthrope who adopts a different way of life during full moon nights.
Giacchino said in an interview with Collider that his desire to pay homage to classic Universal and Hammer Horrors monster features led him to make the initial decision to film in achromatic scale.
“From the beginning we did the recordings in color. We thought if the first one was well received and people ended up liking it, then it would be fun to release this version next year as something extra fun. Black and white will always exist. In my heart, it’s the definitive version, but I feel it’s a fun way to revisit it in another way,” he said, highlighting the uniqueness and timeliness of the project.
If you like horror it’s a wonderful option, as it will be bringing together the best of two worlds, the cinema we already know from Marvel with a lot of horror, making Halloween that much more interesting.
