Aquaman 2 continues to be talked about, but no one really knows what is going on with the film, as with the Hollywood strikes many things have been delayed, causing many productions that had been assigned would not be happening with the necessary temporality.
The film has not been canceled, although it has suffered several scandals since the problems that Amber Heard lived with her ex-partner Johnny Depp, the film has had a bad wait, it has even been said that Warner does not have much money allocated for the promotion of the film, inducing that they do not have much confidence in it, despite the director assures that it would be like a retro tribute.
James Wan assures that Aquaman 2 will be a retro homage
The problem of what is happening with Aquaman is quite interesting, since the film stars Jason Momoa, who apparently would not be very excited about the film and is that superhero movies are going through a bad time, we can only remember what happened with The Flash movie that came out much worse than expected.
In an interview with Empire, James Wan assured that the film has more elements of terror
“The second film definitely has more of that.”
Planet Of The Vampires (1965), a film that has become a benchmark for the director, was one of Wan’s key inspirations.
“The Lost Kingdom has a very retro, ’60s horror look.”
He also promised stunning action sequences with mechanical creatures that give the impression of old-school sci-fi and horror.
December 20, 2023 is the target date for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, if the strikes come to a better agreement, as there is still a possibility that the film could be released later, again indicating a delay in the already troubled production.
