Actor Austin Butler has been carving out a much wider niche for himself in the world of Hollywood, as since Elvis, production companies have turned to him and want him in their productions, even productions as big as Dune.
Dune came back to the world of cinema with a new version, which would soon be having a second part, which promises to be as interesting and even more successful than the first one. A new actor has arrived to join the renowned actors and Austin Butler will be part of the Dune universe, but apparently, it was not as easy as it seemed.
Austin Butler claims to have been terrified of acting in Dune
Austin Butler told Magazine about his thoughts of being part of the second part of Dune, a film directed by Villeneuve with artists like Zendaya in the cast.
“I’m always nervous and always feel a lot of pressure, ever since I was 12 years old. With Dune it was very interesting because I knew Denis Villeneuve, we got on really well and started talking about the character. At the time there was no script but I immediately felt the pressure to play Feyd.”
“As soon as my imagination started to work I began to feel the fear of what a challenge it was. Elvis was terrifying and I was always asking myself, ‘Am I enough?’ That made me focus and work harder. But the great reception the film got also shows me what I’m capable of,” Butler acknowledged.
The initial plans for the film are for it to be a trilogy, which is expected to come to fruition as the director expressed in an interview with Empire
“If I manage to make a trilogy, it would be a dream come true. Messiah of Dune was written as a reaction to the fact that people perceived Paul Atreides as a hero. Which is not what he wants. My adaptation is very close to this idea
