Our fierce and fab member of BLACKPINK, Jennie, has just made some major moves in the Billboard charts. Wonder what the buzz is all about? Well, it turns out our fave rapper and vocalist was able to surpass Kpop king Jungkook of BTS. Now, for context: he is currently slaying in his solo era, and we’re all ears (and eyes) for his upcoming album ‘GOLDEN,’ dropping on November 3rd. Still, it looks like Jennie has also been rocking those chart positions even with Jungkook in the area!
Get this fact: a few weeks ago, Jennie left BLACKPINK stans, also known as BLINKS, totally shook when she dropped her solo bop “You & Me.” Things got to new levels of hype, as she had only performed that track during the “Born Pink World Tour,” but she finally decided to give it some justice with a studio version – and the world is living for it. Need proof? This bop became a global sensation, topping charts and streaming platforms everywhere, with Billboard backing up this fact.
So get ready, BLINKS! Thanks to the song’s massive success, queen Jennie has taken Jungkook’s crown and snatched the number one spot on the Billboard 200 Excl. U.S. chart. Fun fact: this is the first time the “Solo” singer has debuted at the top spot in this list. As if that wasn’t enough, Jennie also hit number 7 on the Global 200 chart, showcasing some true star power!
But let’s rewind a little bit: previously, our Golden Maknae was reigning supreme on the charts with his single “3D’” featuring rapper Jack Harlow. And of course, we can’t forget he was also slaying the charts for weeks straight with his major bop, “Seven,” in collaboration with our girl Latto. These two tracks definitely had the entire planet vibing.
Congrats to Jennie and BLINKS, as ‘You & Me’ is dropping some serious numbers in its debut week, and we’re all here for it!
