SM Entertainment responds to rumors about EXO’s Sehun and Chanyeol leaving

EXO‘s Sehun and Chanyeol have been involved in rumors about the future in the music industry since everything seemed to indicate that they would no longer be part of the K-Pop group or the agency, SM Entertainment, in order to look for a new company that will help them boost their careers.

However, in a statement, the agency explains, “Reports about Sehun and Chanyeol transferring to a new agency are not true. The contract signed in late 2022 between SM Entertainment and EXO members remains in effect, and EXO’s activities will continue with the label“.

In the statement, they also explained that “if a member wishes to continue his individual activities while under an exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, we conditionally allow that to occur through an agency that the individual idol establishes at his expense“.

Taking these statements into account, they would not be leaving the agency or the group, and they would not be in legal trouble for breach of contract if they signed with another agency while they had a contract with SM Entertainment, as long as they did so by fulfilling certain conditions.

The Korean idols Chanyeol and Sehun will promote their careers as soloists with the help of another agency, according to what was reported today by the radio and television group SBS, so it is expected that more details about these new projects will be reported in the coming days.

After the recent statements and the agency have given to the group’s followers a little peace, knowing that their departure is not caused by disagreement but rather by the artists’ own decision to prove themselves and be able to demonstrate their full potential.

Even so, we only have to wait for new information about the future of these idols and what will be the lineup of the EXO group when these members start their new solo projects. Are you excited about this new stage of Chanyeol and Sehun of the legendary K-Pop group?
