Actress who played Lois Lane in Superman dies

The terrible news recently broke of the passing of a highly iconic actress who earned the title of Lois Lane, yes, Superman, as the acclaimed actress first brought the character to life. 

Phyllis Coates has passed away at the age of 96 and left behind a legacy of acting, as she was the actress who brought to life the persona of Lois Lane in The Adventures of Superman.

According to what her daughter Laura reported to U.S. media such as The Hollywood Reporter, her death occurred of natural causes at the Motion Picture & Television Country House Hospital in Woodland Hills.

In the 1950s, Phyllis Coates became one of the most famous actors in film and television for her role as Lois Lane, Superman’s girlfriend in the 1951 film “Superman and the Mole Men” and in the series “The Adventures of Superman,” starring George Reeves.

Phyllis Coates has played more than 140 characters on television, the last of which was in 1994 in several episodes of the series “Dr. Quinn”. The famous actress went to many calls, the actress was one of the most popular, as people who enjoyed Superman productions and has definitely left a huge space that will be difficult to replace, since, she is the authentic Lois Lane. 

During the 26 episodes of the first season of the “Adventures of Superman” series, Phyllis Coates played the reporter Lois Lane. However, after the series was canceled until a sponsor was found, the actress quit due to her other commitments to other productions.
