Taylor Swift has been in everyone’s eyes this year – and rightfully so! Our pop queen released the iconic “Midnights” last year, then went on to drop her version of “Speak Now,” announced the same thing would happen for her album”1989.” Also, she took the world (and cinemas) by storm with “The Eras Tour.”
Due to this, it is no surprise that director Shawn Levy, known for working on Deadpool 3, spilled the tea about Tay-Tay – and he had a lot to say. But no worries, Swifties, Shawn only had roses to give this time. First, he commented on Taylor’s creative vision, calling it “profound” and comparing her cultural relevance to that of fellow pop queen, Beyoncé.
As if this wasn’t enough, the director also compared Taylor Swift to Steven Spielberg, saying that her vision is “vivid, and she has the strength of her convictions.” After this, he called the “Blank Space” hitmaker a “generational voice and creative force.”
Now in case you didn’t know, apart from being one of the biggest celebs and singers of our time, as well as an accomplished songwriter and a brilliant producer, Taylor has also directed (or co-directed in some cases) some of her videos.
First, there’s “The Man,” after that, she put her hands on “ME!” and finally, she also took part in one of her most critically acclaimed works, the 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” which she made to promote “Red (Taylor’s Version).”
It’s pretty clear Shawn Levy only has good things to say about Taylor, so here’s a fragment for you to check the facts:
“I think she has the makings of a hell of a director…the depth of her vision for how she wants a creative piece to be…it’s profound. It’s profoundly vivid, and she has the strength of her convictions.”
Sadly, the Deadpool 3 director didn’t confirm any plans for them to get together for any type of project. But who knows? Taylor herself has said she’s always all eyes and ears when it comes to what her fans have to say, so maybe with some Swiftie magic, a Taylor x Shawn collab could bless us in the future.
Shawn Levy says Taylor Swift’s directorial vision reminds him of Steven Spielberg:
