Rowoon has gained a lot of attention since his departure from the K-pop South Korean group, SF9 because he wanted to focus completely on the acting industry. This decision has come to the table because of the prominent future of the idol as an actor, as he already demonstrated it with his role in “Destined With You.” The idol is ready to excel at his new role in “The Matchmakers” by revealing unpublished details from the upcoming K-drama
The respected actor has starred in romantic series where he became widely popular among the population who enjoy watching K-Dramas. This time around, the idol is prepared to overcome the challenges that the historical K-Drama represents.
“The Matchmakers,” tells the story of Sim Jung-Woo (Rowoon) who was picked to become the princess’s husband. However, during the wedding ceremony, the princess dies and he is not able to take the government post. He can’t remarry, but he meets Jung-Soon-Deok and gets involved with her.
This marks Rowoon’s first time acting in a historical K-drama, and he talked with My Daily about the challenges he had to face with the series.
“I wanted to take on the challenge of the comedy genre. Actually, I think comedy is the most difficult genre. There are parts where Shim Jung Woo’s words [coming] from the historical or situational background may feel a little different from [sentiments of] the current times. I tried to express those parts without making him seem hateful.”
