The Exorcist defined a pop culture moment in time and became a great reference in horror movies decades ago. This time, ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ excelled some predictions from the critics and shot a solid debut on the weekend Box Office before Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour film came to take the No.1 spot.
The horror movie fans were shocked and enthusiastic after Blumhouse in association with Universal and Peacock brought the rights to ‘The Exorcist’ franchise for $400 million dollars. The movie was in charge of David Gordon Green, the same under the production of the Halloween trilogy.
‘The Exorcist: Believer’ created hype among horror fans because they were going to bring one of the most iconic franchises ever. However, the reviews took a great role in the Box office score of the movie, which is not likely to be worth the 400 million dollars investment.
The movie opened with $27.2 million dollars at the Box Office which despite it being a solid number was not enough under the predictions planned. ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ was originally set to premiere on October 13 but was moved up a week on October 6 to avoid Taylor Swift’s storm.
The movie didn’t have a terrible opening, but the poor reviews are crushing down the movie’s expectations from fans around the world and might directly affect its box score in the long term. As a result, it might not join October movies that could raise $100 million dollars at the end of the month.
