James Gunn recently announced via social network Threads that the second season of Peacemaker will take place in the new DC Universe. In addition, this HBO series will also experience the severe reset that he has suggested for all his projects.

Therefore, he also confirmed that none of the new titles would belong to the old DC Universe and that these would only be appropriate for the new DCU. The only implication of this is that only certain actors from the past universe will return to their roles after the full DCU reboot, such as John Cena in the role of Peacemaker and Viola Davis in the role of Amanda Waller.
