The renowned former footballer David Beckham has shared in his recently released documentary on the steaming platform Netflix, titled ‘Beckham‘, what it is like to live with the OCD he suffers and how it affects him in his daily life.
On October 4th, the documentary by the well-known British businessman premiered on the service, where he shows a never-before-seen version of him, which includes his family, friends, teammates and even shows his shopping and cleaning habits at home, in deeper look of what the businessman is as a person.
The former soccer player revealed in 2006 that he suffered from Obsessive Complusive Disorder that led him to be a perfectionist and meticulous with order, and currently that has not changed, so by having a family he follows his children and his wife, arranging every mess they make, even at bedtime.
“When everyone is sleeping I go around the house cleaning the candles, turning on the lights correctly and making sure everything is in its place because I hate waking up and having plates, cups and bowls in the way. It’s exhausting“.
“I cut the wick of the candles and clean the holder. This is my favorite hobby… I know, it’s strange, but I do it“, adds the famous former athlete.
Furthermore, after Beckham cooks he leaves the kitchen as if nothing had happened, he stated, “I clean it thoroughly“, however, he also made it clear that it is not just about cleanliness but also about order, a perfect one for each thing, and this is evident when seeing his closet.
When showing his clothes, this man’s attention to detail is evident, since everything is very organized by colors, textures and well folded or laid out, with the aim of being able to see everything with a simple glance.
