SEVENTEEN has been consecrated as one of the biggest exponents of the K-pop genre worldwide, their great influence, talent, and skills have been the triple threat for the boyband to meet success every time. The idols have achieved an astonishing record in album sales in just a couple of months, which is an incredible record.
After SEVENTEEN broke the record for the most pre-ordered album, FML with 4.64 million copies, they solidified into the industry and their reign seems to have no end. SEVENTEEN has exceeded 10 million album sales during the period from January to September 2023 according to the boy band’s music agency, Pledis Entertainment.
These marvelous records positioned the boy band as the best-selling artist of all time in the history of K-pop. In addition, they are the first ever K-pop artists to make a record of selling over 10 million album copies on the Circle Chart 2023 in a single calendar year, surpassing all other groups.
Pledis Entertainment attributes these impressive sales to the boy band’s tenth mini-album, ‘FML’ which was released in April. However, FML was not the only contributor to the record as their full-length album, ‘Face the Sun’ sold over 950,000 copies becoming two of the most beloved albums by their fans, better known as Carats.
Since SEVENTEEN’s debut in the K-pop industry back in 2015, they have been climbing the ladder of success. The boy band has shown their reign has just begun, and the Carats also expect to break numerous records with ‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN’, SEVENTEEN’s new album.
