Hey 2000s kids, remember “Mean Girls”? while some of us were too young to even be allowed to watch it, others hadn’t even been born, but this mega film surely became a smash hit and left a giant footprint on pop culture. Seriously, Who could forget the iconic “On Wednesdays, we wear pink!” or the epic Burn Book? Well, if you are a true fan, no matter your age, you’d know October 3rd is the unofficial “Mean Girls Day”. And this year, Paramount Pictures will be celebrating big time!
Get this: we’re now watching Mean Girls on no other platform than TikTok. That’s right, from today you’ll get a chance to watch the whole movie there, but with a twist. The film was separated into different parts, giving us all a throwback to when movies on YouTube were chopped and sometimes you had to search endlessly for the next scene. Not a really good time, so thank you streaming era.
Anyway, Paramount Pictures is now bringing that vibe back by uploading the entire classic on TikTok vids in the movie’s official account. So get in, loser! (pun intended) because that’s gonna be the weekend plan for us. We are not sure how long they’ll last, but whatever it is going to be, make sure to grab that popcorn, a little soda, and dive into the Plastics’ early two thousands world!
And if this wasn’t enough for you, then get ready for some more flipping hot tea: we are getting “Mean Girls: The Musical”! October 3 just keeps getting better, doesn’t it? We know this musical film will hit theaters on January 12. This re-visited version of the pop culture phenomenon will start Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auliʻi Cravalho, and Jaquel Spivey in the big screen.
Happy Mean Girls Day!
