One of the most famous films of the epic director Christopher Nolan is the Batman trilogy of films, which brought him international fame, as he demonstrated his style adapted to a superhero movie.
Another person recognized in the cinema was part of this production and Christian Bale was responsible for taking the lead role of Batman, but, apparently, there was another actor who was in option to take that role to the screen.
The actor Christopher Nolan considered to play ‘Batman’ instead of Christian Bale
It is Jake Gyllenhaal, an actor. David Goyer, the co-writer, confirmed this on a podcast in which he claimed that he and Nolan had protected Gyllenhaal after doing a screen test, elevating him over Bale.
The host even asked him if there was footage of the actor in a bat suit that had never been seen, and the writer responded with some admiration:
“I think so, there may be, yeah, I mean Gyllenhaal is amazing Cristian Bale is amazing so who knows.”
Although the 42-year-old actor had not yet been selected to play Batman, his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, was selected by Nolan to replace Katie Holmes.
Gyllenhaal is definitely an extremely talented actor who would have made a very interesting role as Batman, but we will never know. What we do know is that the Batman trilogy is one of the most beloved films and a great reference to superhero movies.
What do you think about it? Would you have liked another actor to play Batman in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy besides Christian Bale?
