Shakira never stops creating great musical hits and her new song is no exception, as she has united with a very particular sound aimed at the ranchero genre, making the song El Jefe a worldwide trend.
The song, like many of the ones she has released lately, narrates experiences she has had and this would include what she lived through with the family of her ex-partner, Gerard Piqué, something they would not have liked at all.
Gerard Piqué’s family responds to Shakira’s attacks on her song ‘El Jefe’.
“They say there is no evil that lasts more than a hundred years, but there is still my ex-father-in-law who does not step on the grave,” reads part of the lyrics of the song.
It is a part of the song that we can listen to and sing, without any fear of being able to name the people who have affected it at some point.
As revealed by Spanish journalists Laura Fa and Lorena Vázquez in the podcast Mamarazzis, Piqué’s father has included a part of this song in his WhatsApp status, according to a person who has it in his contact list:
“In his WhatsApp status it says ‘Dancing with wolves’ and the picture is the movie. But listen to me, dancing with wolves Pique’s father.”
The mother of the former Barcelona FC footballer, Montserrat Bernabeu, has also joined her ex-husband and responded to the Colombian’s latest topic after giving “likes” to a publication with El Jefe as the protagonist.
Recall that before the separation, Shakira lived complicated moments with her former Spanish family, as later even came to light photographs where her former mother-in-law was physically abusing her.
